Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal

Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 annually
Location: Kansas City, KS
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of personal injury litigation experience and be comfortable managing a high-volume caseload from filing through trial preparation. This role requires strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all phases of personal injury litigation.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, motions, and correspondence.
  • Manage litigation calendars, deadlines, court filings, and hearing schedules.
  • Organize and maintain client files, medical records, and case documentation.
  • Coordinate discovery, including gathering records, reviewing documents, and tracking responses.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Schedule depositions, mediations, independent medical examinations, and attorney-client meetings.
  • Prepare settlement demand packages and assist with case evaluations.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness coordination, and trial notebooks.
  • Monitor case progress and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2-3 years of experience as a personal injury litigation paralegal.
  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court filing requirements.
  • Experience handling discovery, medical records, and litigation case management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Associate's degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent work experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Trial preparation experience.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and personal injury case documentation.
